Paul: We've become burnt by dealing with record companies over the last year and a half so we've taken a step back from that and just decided to record some tracks and see what happens.I think people are fairly bored with the whole, ya know, 'bands moaning about their record companies', and we don't really want to get into that whole area, so we just like to look forward rather than looking back at what's happened. I mean it just didn't work out and there's no real big story behind
Myles: No recriminations.
Paul: There's a lot of baggage associated with Whipping Boy as well, like people expect certain things of Whipping Boy, and it's nice to be able to step outside and not always fulfil what everybody thinks Whipping Boy should be and that's what we're trying to do with this next album and also the other things we're involved in.
Interviewer: Why do you think there is that label on Whipping Boy though?
Myles: I think it's just an image that people have of the band.
Paul: I think it's been lazy journalism and laziness on people's part who have wrote (sic) about the band. We still get that angst ridden tag. I mean really, we don't really know where we certainly don't know where it came in as regards Heartworm. I mean we maybe understandable for the early years but that's the way a lot of bands start out. But I mean now it's just about writing songs for us. And making music cos that's really the most important thing, that's what keeps us here.
